The original Rob Roy is a gated community of custom built homes with a private security patrol. It’s an established neighborhood located between Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360) and Lake Austin with St. Stephens School bordering it to the north. Homes were built in the early 1980’s through the late 1990’s with some newer builds. Homes are situated on estate-sized lots with an acre or more. Many offer views of the hill country and Lake Austin. Waterfront homes are found on Lake Austin along Humboldt and Pascal Lane. Homes range in size from 2,400 square feet to over 9,000 square feet. Rob Roy on the Lake is a gated community located off Bee Cave Road (FM 2244) to the west of the original Rob Roy. This neighborhood can be accessed from 3 different locations off Bee Cave Road (FM 2244) including Weston Lane, Lowell Lane and River Hills Road. Homes were built in the mid 1980’s through the early 2000’s with some newer builds. Homes are situated on estate-sized lots with an acre or more. Most homes have hill country views while others have views of Lake Austin. Waterfront homes are located off Weston Lane. Homes range in size from 2,600 feet to over 9,000 square feet. Rob Roy Area Parks & Greenbelts
There are several parks close to Rob Roy homes including the Wild Basin Preserve and Emma Long Metropolitan Park. The popular Barton Creek Greenbelt is also close.
Barton Creek Greenbelt– is spread over 809 acres and offers runners, mountain bikers and hikers over 7.9 miles of trails. Rock climbers are also drawn to the limestone cliffs. During the summer, the Greenbelt provides Austinites with a refreshing swimming hole. There are several access points to the Barton Creek Greenbelt. One of the more popular and easier access points to the Greenbelt is off Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360).

Emma Long Metropolitan Park is located off City Park Road. This park charges a small entrance fee per car, but provides public showers, bathrooms and roped off swimming areas. Two sand volleyball courts are available on a first come first serve basis. Camping is available, but the park fills up fast so reserve your space early.
Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve is located on Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360) and provides hiking trails that cover over 227 acres of land. Pets, bicycles and picnics are prohibited. St. Edwards University acquired the Preserve in 2009 and it now serves as the living laboratory for the School of Natural Sciences. Trails at Wild Basin Preserve are open from sunrise to sunset each day.
